Overview Too often technical teams forget who the consumer of their work is. They lose track of the quality of ease of use in favor of technically elegant solutions. They don't place emphasis on the productivity of the user, but rather the productivity of the developer. ClearBlade strongly believes that the user experience and human factors of an application should be first and foremost in mind when delivering solutions to our customers. No one has been as underserved as legacy system users with their arcane green screen applications. Our mission is to understand not only the tasks they need to complete while using the system, but also the environment they work in and the mental model they bring to the system. To accomplish this, we use best practices in user experience engineering and usability. We combine this with world class graphic and web design capabilities to truly bring a new face to legacy systems. Persona Development Personas form the basis of developing the user experience. They represent an archetype that exists in your organization that you want to build the experience for.

Task Analysis Task analysis is a technique related to requirements gathering that centers around a specific persona. It differs from requirements gathering in that it focuses on the specific work that the persona performs with the interface. It is through analyzing these tasks that the user interface is optimized for ease of use and productivity. Graphic Design Nothing influences perception of user interfaces more than the quality of the actual graphics on the page. ClearBlade graphic artists focus on more than providing pretty pictures; they strive to tell a story or convey a message with visually attractive graphics.

Web Design As opposed to graphics design, web design focuses on brining together the artistic renderings of graphics design with the real world capabilities and constraints of web browsers and mobile devices. ClearBlade designers differentiate themselves from others by bringing both cutting edge web interfaces that understand how to work with the underlying technology even if that technology is twenty five(25) year old COBOL on the mainframe. Usability Testing Don't take our word that our designs are easy to use and productive. We'll help you test them for yourself. Utilizing state of the art usability tools such as a mobile usability lab, ClearBlade will provide hard metrics on the success (or not) of our design. Simulation As user experience engineering has evolved, one of the newer strong techniques for gaining customer feedback is to develop high fidelity simulations of the application. This prototyping approach that creates not only visual representations of the system, but also simulates the dynamic behavior it will exhibit when live in production, has been proven to bring better feedback than traditional text requirements. ClearBlade utilizes this technique to bring a day in the life of various personas. We utilize a combination of tools from iRise and Adobe to build these simulations. We provide a solid transition to the development team.
