ClearBlade 2025.4.0 Jewel Bug Product Release
On January 6, 2026, ClearBlade released version 2025.4.0 (Jewel Bug) of our IoT software. This version introduces significant new features and enhancements to IoT Enterprise and Intelligent Assets. Explore the key features below.

IoT Enterprise and Edge
Code Service V8 Profiling: Capture metrics regarding individual service execution for CPU utilization and memory allocation, greatly improving the ability to debug low-level behavior in service code.
Elastic Service Queues: Improve memory management by dynamically allocating queue sizes for stream services. This results in smaller queues for services that receive and process fewer messages.
Developer Session Default Expiration: To improve security, developer tokens will now expire by default after 5 days. Note that this change could break existing solutions that leverage any infinite TTL dev tokens.
Edge Recovery Mode Improvements: Improved the tolerance and stability of an Edge in recovery mode, including reasons, cross-version support, and auto-reconnect.
Code Streams: Code services now support data streams to reduce computation and time required when serving database or file response data. Read more about this feature here.
Protobuf Library: ClearBlade code library now includes the ability to work directly with protobuf using .proto definitions for encoding and decoding in real-time message flow.
Autoscale Down to 0: Stream and preloaded services can now scale down to 0 instances, reducing the memory load required for infrequently called services. This will significantly reduce the overall memory usage for environments with large multi-tenant deployments.
Edge Database Queries: From the console, it’s now possible to make remote SQL queries against edge databases as a native feature. This significantly reduces remote debugging complexity.
Intelligent Assets
Dynamic Action Recipient: The Recipient Formula dynamically determines who receives an action based on asset or event data. This ensures notifications are sent to the right recipients based on context. Read more about this feature here.
Custom Login Page Image: You can now customize the image on your login page to better reflect your brand and create a more personalized experience. Read more about this feature here.
Grace Period for Actions: The grace period allows you to add a delay before actions are sent, ensuring the triggering event remains open for the specified duration. Read more about this feature here.
Action Translations and ICU Message Support: Actions now support ICU Message Formatting, making message templates more flexible and easier to localize across different scenarios. Read more about this feature here.
Event Attributes: Define and use custom attributes on events to store additional event data. Read more about this feature here.
Measurement Profiles: Standardize how asset attribute data is displayed with measurement profiles. These reusable configurations automatically convert values into the most appropriate unit for each user, ensuring consistent and accurate data tracking. Read more about this feature here.
Configurable Password Requirements: Administrators can now set custom password rules to strengthen account security. Read more about this feature here.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Enhance account security with optional two-factor authentication. Read more about this feature here.
GIS Layer Overlays and Multi-Polygon Support: Link geographical areas to assets to easily visualize and manage geospatial data on maps. Read more about this feature here.
About Jewel Bug: The Jewel Bug nebula resembles a bright blue star located in the Cygnus constellation. This young nebula was discovered in 1878 and is 3,000 light-years away.
