On July 1, 2025, ClearBlade released version 2025.2.0 (Crab) of our IoT software. This version brings the release of major new environment management capabilities with our Operations Console. Explore the key features below.-Aaron Allsbrook, Co-Founder & CTO
Operations Console
Logging: The ClearBlade Operations Console is expanding in functionality to provide better insights into your Environments. Directly from the Operations Console, you can now easily filter and search ClearBlade logs across all nodes in your environment, providing a quick and easy way to investigate any issues that may arise.
Monitoring: A new Environment Monitoring page has been added, providing you with visual insights into the overall health and performance of your environments. Metrics include CPU and Memory Usage, as well as ClearBlade metrics such as MQTT clients connected, MQTT message rate, Code Service failures, and many more. This addition, combined with Logging, allows our customers to quickly and easily understand the current state of the environment.
Application Instance Management: Easily enable your IoT Enterprise environment to host the latest versions of IoT Core and Intelligent Assets. You can now fully self-manage your Intelligent Assets instances as a solutions provider to many organizations and customers.
Intelligent Assets
Intelligent Video Analytics Component: The Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) component lets you use any camera device to detect and track the movement of people, objects, or vehicles. Once enabled, IVA offers access to models for object detection, motion tracking, text interpretation, and more. This powerful edge AI solution transforms your existing video infrastructure into a real-time safety and efficiency system, without the need for expensive camera upgrades.
Attribute Forecasting (Prediction) Component: This feature allows you to forecast asset attributes, identify trends, and detect anomalies. You can select forecast-enabled attributes and create real-time "twin" attributes that show predicted values based on historical data, time, and related inputs.
Intelligent Assets Library: Developers who are building applications on top of the Intelligent Assets backend are now able to decouple from direct data calls and use the Intelligent Assets library as a dependency. This library will ensure that applications honor a safe API while still providing direct access to the assets, rules, actions, and events running in the backend.
IoT Enterprise and Edge
Azure Event Hub MQTT Connector: ClearBlade IoT Enterprise now supports a native integration into Azure Event Hub, allowing you to easily configure any MQTT topic to have all messages automatically forwarded to Azure Event Hub for further processing.
Shared Access Signature (SAS) Token Authentication: MQTT Devices can now authenticate with the ClearBlade IoT Enterprise and Edge MQTT Broker using a Shared Access Signature token, providing an easy migration path from Azure IoT to ClearBlade IoT Enterprise.
Unrestricted Database Querying: Developers now have more access to built-in Postgres expressions and functions like Common Table Expressions, Window Functions, Intersects, Updates with Returning, and Truncate when running raw queries from within a Code Service or via the Database Console.
Improve Code Service Restart Handling: Previously, any Code Service configured to automatically restart would be prevented from restarting if it failed five times in quick succession due to an unexpected reason, such as syntax errors or similar issues in your JavaScript. Now, Code Services will use an exponential backoff process, which can be easily customized in your Environment.
About Crab:Discovered in 1731, the Crab Nebula is located in the Taurus constellation and resembles a crab with extended arms visible through binoculars. It is the remnant of a supernova observed in 1054 C.E.
