ClearBlade Product Release: Lion

January 10, 2023

On January 11, 2023, ClearBlade released the latest version of our award winning IoT software, named the Lion Nebula Release. It has been a quarter filled with exciting new opportunities as IoT Core continues to mature and meet the immediate needs of migrating device registries.  Learn more about all the great new features below.

IoT Core

JWT time skew support – To ensure JWT tokens are valid ClearBlade by enforcing a ten minutes bidirectional time skew.  As a result, any compromised tokens are quickly made invalid and communication between device and cloud is protected.

Enhanced PubSub performance – New native-level integrations for Google PubSub communication allow for large-scale registries to run in highly performant modes.  This feature available to IoT enterprise customers results in huge cloud cost savings when compared to data volume-based pricings.

Monitoring and Logging integrations – Built-in logging tools for Google Cloud Monitoring and Logging for seamless IoT Core migrations. Not only is managing IoT solution complexity reduces but also monitoring underlying IoT Core infrastructure is now available with native cloud tools.

Marketplace improvements – Continued improvements to make marketplace interactions more transparent and easy for end users to connect billing and monitoring.  Additional improvements allow for many developers to work within shared registries while all are billed to a common account.

IoT Enterprise and Edge

MySQL and MariaDB support – Improvements in the MySQL and MariaDB external database connector allow for the latest supported driver features and TLS encrypted communication.  This ensures secure communication between multi-cloud architectures and modern capability availability.

MongoDB Atlas driver update – Replacement of the current MongoDB Atlas driver with the latest release to enable connectivity to the latest MongoDB releases.  Massive performance and increased connection speeds have been realized.

Intelligent Assets

Azure Active Directory Sign-on – It’s now easier to manage your users who access Intelligent Assets with direct integration to Azure Active Directory.  Your Microsoft Enterprise grade director access can now control who has access to view and edit your field IoT assets.
