Expanding the two companies’ previously-announced collaboration, 360° Edge Analytics is the first product of its kind, and is the starting point for a new range of analytics tools for the Industrial IoT. 360° Edge Analytics combines sensor and context data with location information to unlock business value based on automatically-detected events. By extracting and processing real-time data directly at the edge, actionable business insights can be derived with the lowest possible latency. Insights drive process optimization and increase performance while reducing cost. The platform is based on an open architecture for any sensor and any radio location technology. Currently, it supports Chirp radio location and communication for low cost and long range, and UWB radio technology for very high precision down to 10cm. The system utilizes inputs from motion, temperature and gas detection sensors. The 360° Edge Analytics software solution supports fully-automated, real-time event detection, leveraging context data for augmenting event information, for example to determine proximity or area events. It scales up to monitor thousands of entities simultaneously.
